Bingawan, Iloilo – The Visayas Leg of the Akari High School Volleyball Championships officially opened last Saturday, January 20, 2018. It was held at the Ateneo de Iloilo covered court in Iloilo City.
The competition was joined by 32 teams from all throughout the region. The Bingawan National High School was one of them.
As of January 20, the Bingawan representatives has entered the semi-finals. They beat Hua Siong College of Iloilo and CenterPhil Montessori in the elimination round. In the quarter finals round, they won over the San Joaquin reps.
To find the best volleyball high school girls team that can play in bigger competition was the aim of the contest. At the end of it, the top four teams will forward to the national championships which will be held in Manila on March 3-4, 2018.
Besides the Visayas leg, an Akari National High School Championships was also held in Cagayan de Oro. Other regional legs will also be held in Bulacan, Baguio City, Laguna, Quezon City and Manila in the coming days.
