Bingawan, Iloilo – Mayor Mark Palabrica was featured in Cream Magazine, one of Iloilo’s prime lifestyle magazines. The feature was released for the publication’s January 2018 issue.
In his piece, the good mayor talked about his cherished moments for 2017. And as a public servant, he cited that Bingawan getting awards for good governance and for various programs is among those precious moments.
Last year, under the leadership of Mayor Mark Palabrica, the municipality of Bingawan received several local and international recognitions. It’s “Pamankutanon Sang Banwa” program entered the Final Verification and Validation process held by the UN Committee of Experts in Public Administration. The program was the country’s entry to the 2017 UN Public Service Awards.
Also last year, the municipality was again awarded the 2017 Seal of Good Local Governance. In addition, it was recognized as the champion by DILG for the 2017 Excellence in Local Governance (EXCELL). Because of its “Bingawan Ayaw sa Droga” program, it also received the Excellence in Social Governance and Most Innovative Best Practice in Social Governance.
Likewise, in 2017, the town was declared drug-free by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency.
