Bingawan, Iloilo – Bingawan will celebrate its 2018 fiesta on the 25th of January. To pump up the once-a-year event, its local government invited the Generika-Ayala Lifesavers professional volleyball team to play in the municipality on the 23rd.

The squad is one of the women volleyball teams playing at the Philippine Super Liga. It originated from the Philippine Army Lady Troopers that Generika Drugstore first sponsored in 2014. With the co-sponsorship of the Ayala Corporation, it is now known as the Generika-Ayala Lifesavers.

Members of the team as Fiola Mae Ceballos (a Bingawanon herself), Carol Ann Cerveza, Angeli Pauline Araneta, Patty Jane Orendain, Mikaela Lopez, Rubie De Leon and Yvonnie Reyes will come for the game. Imports Katarina Pilepic from Croatia and Darlene Ramdin from USA will also join them.

Generika-Ayala Lifesavers will play against the CPU-Western Visayas Selections. The game is scheduled on January 23, 2018, 3:00 pm at the Bingawan Civic Center.

Before the PSL team’s pregame is a preliminary game between Bingawan and Passi City’s secondary girls’ volleyball teams. And as it is a part of the municipality’s campaign for sustainable drug-free Bingawan, admission is free for everyone.
